WASP-12 in TESS: recovery test and residual screen, September 2026

Two bounded analyses of TESS SPOC 120-s light curves of WASP-12 (TIC 86396382). The known planet WASP-12 b was recovered in Sector 20 as a pipeline check; a residual screen of Sectors 20 and 43 found no excursion outside the known transit window. No candidate.

Both runs use public MAST TESS SPOC light curves whose SHA-256 checksums match the Tier-1 manifest. The recovery test (wasp12_sector20) is a pipeline check on a known planet, not a detection. The residual screen (tess-wasp12-residual-01) is a bounded null: its −5 robust-MAD threshold is uncalibrated, and pixel-level, centroid-correlation, injection–recovery and literature checks were not tested.

The normalized light-curve tables are derived from public NASA TESS data and are offered for reproduction; cite MAST and the TESS mission when using them.
